N-Power Training Commences In October As 749,000 Applications Were Received

To commence training in October

The Federal Government social investment programme aimed at recruiting 500,000 graduates and 100,000 trainees said it has received 749,000 applications as at the close of the online portal on 31st of August.

The Special Assistant to the President on Social Investment Programme, Mariam Uwais who stated this while speaking to journalists in Abuja said the N-power program received application from all the 774 Local government areas of the country with the highest applicants coming from
Lagos, Oyo, Rivers and Bauchi.

She said they are in the process of compiling the application and commence training of successful applicants by October adding that the training would last a period of one month before the participants are deployed to states to provide extension services.

She disclosed that the participants would be provided with a training device which would be used for the extention services, adding that the aim of the program was to help young Nigerians acquire and develop lifelong skills become solution providers in their communities and become players in the domestic and global markets.

Uwais explained that the programe has been divided into three sections namely, Paid Volunteer Teacher Corps for Graduate (N-Power Corps), Training and Empowerment for Knowledge Work (n-power Knowledge), Build Nigeria Program for Training and Empowerement of Artisans (N-power Build).



She added that the aim of the N-Power Corps was to provide temporary jobs in the area of primary education, agriculture, public health and community education, adding that the programme, which would last for two years, was targeted at employing 50,000 unemployed graduate.

She said trainees would be deployed to their immediate rurual and local communities, where they would assist in improving the inadequacies in the education, health and and agricultural sectors, adding that states government would assist in deployment of beneficiaries to the communities.

The President Aid said that others include the N-Power Knowledge, which would train 25,000 Nigerians in the area of technology, and N-Power Build, which train another 75,000 in the areas of building services, construction, utilities, hospitality and catering, automotive vocations, aluminium and gas services.

“Besides their monthly take home pay estimated at about N23, 000, the selected 500,000 graduates will also get computer devices that will contain information necessary for their specific engagement, as well as information for their continuous training and development. They get to keep the devices even after exiting the programme.

“According to the plan of the Buhari administration, the N-Power Teacher Corps programme is an invaluable opportunity for young Nigerians to make immense economic and social contributions to the nation while developing their skills.

It will also help to address the problems of inadequate teachers in public schools.

NSE Recruitment Job Portal Launched Ahead Of Transparent Recruitment Process

We have received news that the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) of recent has launched an online job portal for a transparent recruitment procedure across the globe. The purpose for this online launching was to be transparent in its recruitment process.

According to the report from The Nigerian Stock Exchange which stated that the portal was meant “to attract top talent and optimize its recruitment process”, by also enhancing its recruitment capability, increasing turnaround time and providing a consumer-friendly candidate experience.
An employee of NSE which we could reach, said that the recruitment process will work in line with its values of “transparency, teamwork, integrity and professionalism (TTIP)”.

The NSE Recruitment Portal is designed to recruit graduate trainees, interns, entry-level and other experienced staff across about some 13 states of the federation and the nation’s capital.

The states to be recruited from includes Ogun, Bauchi, Edo, Oyo, Kwara, Kaduna, Kano, Lagos, Onitsha, Imo, Rivers, Akwa Ibom, and Yola.

Food Production: FG To Employ 100,000 Graduates

MAKURDI—Over 100,000 graduates are to be employed by the Federal Government and drafted to farms in all local government councils across the country, as extension workers to help government actualise its food production drive.




Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Chief Audu Ogbe, made this known shortly after he inspected various Value Chain Development Programme, VCDP, Improved Agronimics Practice farms at Sumaka and Taraku in Guma and Gwer Local Government areas of Benue State.

Represented by his Senior Adviser, International Donor Partners, Mr. Auta Appeh, the minister said the initiatives were necessary because government “is doing everything to encourage our youths to take up farming as a business and not as a hobby.”

In his speech, National Programme Coordinator of the International Fund for Agricultural Development, IFAD-VCDP, Dr. Ameh Onoja, said the organisation had constructed roads, cleared farmlands and provided inputs through its matching grants to farmers to galvanise the sector.

Acting Ter Guma, Chief Gbor Igyo, urged government to urgently provide tractors and other farming implements and inputs to farmers if the food sufficiency campaign of the present administration would become a reality.

FG Approves 15,000 NDLEA Recruitments

Minister of Justice and the Attorney General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami (SAN), has said the federal government has approved the recruitment of 5000 staff in the National Drug Law and Enforcement Agency, (NDLEA), in addition to 10,000 in 2017.



Malami, who spoke at the ECOWAS ministers meeting, said there are plans by the federal government to improve the capacity of the agency in relation to fighting crimes in the region. Malami, who urged member countries’ ministers to adopt the new ECOWAS Regional Drug Action Plan, for the year 2016-2020, said it provides a roadmap and working document for the ECOWAS drug control team.

Commending Nigeria’s effort to tackle drug trafficking at the national level, the ECOWAS director in charge of Drug Control, Sintiki Ugbe, said Nigerian government has shown political commitment by approving the recruitment of workers to widen the NDLEA capacity and further develop a national drug control master plan.

“We see and applaud that kind of political commitment in the region. We also want to see the translation of political commitment into real actions,” Ugbe said.
